The National Golf Club Challenge Auction

Terms & Conditions

1. Placing a bid shall be deemed as proof that the person has acquainted himself/herself with and agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions of sale.

2. Bidding on a lot thereby enters the bidder into a contractually binding obligation, with irrevocable effect, to complete the transaction if they are the winning bidder of that lot. The 'winning bidder' is the person certified to be the highest bidder by the The National Golf Club Challenge Team (NGCC Team) at the end of the auction, provided that their bid meets the reserve, and it includes any under-bidder who is awarded the lot following the failure for any reason of a higher bid. If there are two or more bidders with equal claims to be the winning bidder, the NGCC Team shall select one by drawing names out of a hat.

3. The NGCC Team's decision in all respects as to the winning bid is final and cannot be challenged, nor will any explanation or reason be given.

4. (a) The bidding and advances shall be regulated by and at the discretion of the NGCC Team.
(b) Where an agent purchases on behalf of an undisclosed client such agent shall be personally liable for payment of the purchase price to the NGCC Team and for safe delivery of the lot to the said client.

5. On no account will lots be dispatched or delivered before payment. If any purchaser fails to pay in full for any lot within the said time such lot may at the NGCC Team's discretion be put up for auction again or sold privately; if upon such a re-sale a lower price is obtained for such a lot than was obtained on the first sale the difference in price and expense of such a re-sale shall be made good by (and debt due from) the purchaser in default upon the first sale.

6. It is the responsibility of all bidders to ensure that, should they be the winning bidder, they have the necessary permissions or authorisations to carry out the activity specified in the bid, including (by way of example, not limitation) appropriate identification, clean driving licence and minimum age qualification, security clearance, and so on.

7. Winning bidders cannot claim any cash or other alternative to the lot they have won, and unless otherwise specifically agreed by the NGCC Team they cannot transfer the lot to any other person.

8. Payment to be made within 30 days of the auction ending.

9. The auction is open to UK residents aged 18 or over.

10. All individual data will be treated in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
